Whew! We made it to the other side of the Christmas holiday. We exchanged presents, shared good food and drink. Best of all we had family time without distraction - no work, no running around, no schedule, no appointments. There was even time for trivia games and puzzles. I'm sure we would benefit from more days like this.
I have plenty of work lined up, but with the weekend right around the corner, I can ease into a regular routine. This is part of my transition.
I have a little bit of holiday knitting to finish up - the perfect excuse to camp out on the couch. This cabley scarf is really pretty quick. The only drawback is the black color my daughter requested. I've designated it for daytime knitting.
To wrap up the year on a positive note, I'm excited to announce that WEBS is now carrying my yarn. This project has been brewing for a while, so I'm happy to finally share the news. WEBS has custom colors of Bertha and Mavis in stock. Hop over and check it out.
December is drawing to a close, and it's time for the monthly giveaway. To enter, leave a comment. Now that the holidays are over, what are you knitting for yourself? Any knitting goals for the new year? Please include your Ravelry ID for easy contact. The winner, chosen at random, will receive a skein of yarn from Dirty Water DyeWorks - winner's choice. The contest closes on Friday, January 2, 2015.
This time of year I light candles to chase away the shadows, and they are this week's color inspiration.
The soft glow of the season.

I need to knit on my socks and finish some WIP that are going on two years now. :) AtPlayWithFiber Ravelry ID
Yeah for your yarn being sold at Webs!! I am headed for another hand surgery in January - but going to try to crank out hats for 2 grandsons and a capelet for me first. I know rehab will keep me from knitting after the surgery and I have done without for too much of 2014:( Judy11 on Rav
Wow...on Webb's !! Congrats ! Hats are generally my thing but need to get back to sweater that has been on hold. Happy NY!! Rav ID: 58hollett
Trying to finish a shawl for myself as well as a hat and mitten set for my granddaughter.

How wonderful to have your yarn at Webs! I am planning on finishing many socks and scarves that I have started in the past year.
Thanks for the giveaway!

I've got some projects hibernating that need to get finished or frogged. My queue is full of socks!

I have two vests and one sweater that need just a wee bit of finishing. They have been sitting for months. I really need to just finish them up! I have lots of hat "wants" for the family that have my attention. I've got two done and at least four more to go! Good luck to me, eh? lol My knitting goal for this year is to learn color knitting and make Latvian/Estonian patterned mittens! I have the books...just need a fire lit! Thanks for the chance to enter your giveaway!
I'm test knitting a pair of socks - a nice simple knit just for me. SheilaOKeefe on rav.
Congratulations on being listed on WEBS! I'm working on ten bazillion sweaters, but I finished Coralie and it is amazing! I'm designing an adult version that - if commissioned by the baby's mother - should be just as wonderful.

I have a hat I have started knitting. Hopefully, I want to become better at it and add some new skills. rav:yollma
I have my eye on a sweater for myself! I have the yarn and the pattern, now to sit down and really do it!

Like most years, I'm still finishing up a few presents that didn't make it off the needles before Christmas. Hopefully I will be on to selfish knitting by January. I'm Oftengrumpy on Ravelry.
Oddly, my knitting goal is to learn to crochet. I have all sorts of left over sock yarn that I want to be able to turn into a blanket quickly. I also want to knit more for other people. I need to learn to knit and let go..

I'd love to create a pattern and sell it on Ravelry. amchart on Rav
I just got my first installment of my first ever yarn club. It's a skein of Britsock yarn from The Yarn Goddess and a Rachel Coopey pattern. I can't wait to cast on but need to get the socks I'm working on (3/4 done) off the needles first. : )

Currently I am working on my third pair of socks. This one I intend to keep, but then I had intended to keep my first two pair. Seriously, this pair is for me. Right? My goals for 2015 include finishing the shrug I started last summer and learning a new knitting skill with my wonderful knitting friends. We talked yesterday about learning double knitting. It may be a bit of a stretch for me, but with the help of these seasoned knitters, it just could be doable.

Last year I didn't get to knit much for myself, so this year I'm going to be a bit more selfish and knit more socks and fun projects. I started with a Shallows Cowl. Congrats on teaming up with WEBS! ~ klynnknits on Ravelry.
Cast on a sweater for myself on new years. Resolution for 2015 is going cold sheep (no buying yarn) so winning a skein of yarn would be a great way to start the year. alcbrooks on Ravelry
