Ready to Travel

It's been a productive week in spite of the Monday holiday.  I've been packing inventory for a road trip in a couple days, and my travel knitting is all sorted.

If you're headed to Fiber Frolic, look for our booth in Building 2 - Windsor Mall.  And remember you can follow along on Instagram for posts throughout the weekend.

I have some project updates in the queue.  Look for those next week.

Time for Knitting

The long holiday weekend is here, and it feels like everyone is ready for a little downtime.  After a spring filled with busy weekends, I'm going to savor the break.

May your weekend include time for knitting.

Leftovers

Project planning continues over here, and a couple decisions have been made.

The yarn has been wound, and now I have a tidy bucket of leftovers.

Browsing

The spring fiber festival season rolls on, but I've glimpsed a break in the action.  In a few weeks, I'll probably have a little more time for knitting.

Right now I have only one active project on the go.

I finished some projects recently.  Usually I would have a couple new ones waiting in the wings, but planning time was in short supply.

This morning I made time for coffee and browsing on Ravelry.  There's a new yarn base lurking in the background, and now I have a few pattern ideas to match.  Pondering possibilities is a relaxing way to start the week.

Spring Shows

This week has a lot of extra activities, but I have just enough time to check in with a quick schedule update.

If you're in the Boston area, Inman Eats and Crafts is happening on Sunday.

This outdoor event is family friendly and includes a fun group of vendors.  Get out and support small, local businesses.  You'll find all the details here.

Looking ahead . . . Maine Fiber Frolic, June 3 & 4.

Fiber demos, activities for kids, sheep dogs in action, used equipment sale, awesome food.  This is another event that's great for the whole family.

Our booth is in Building 2 - Windsor Mall.  Be sure to follow the Frolic on Instagram for updates and vendor highlights.

More Coffee

We had a wonderful weekend at New Hampshire     Sheep & Wool, but the Monday after a busy weekend can be painful.  So far I got the laundry started and I made a quick dive into my inbox, but I'll need more coffee to tackle the rest of today's list.

We had an excellent turnout, and the weather was stellar. Thanks to everyone who came out for this event.  Here's a quick peek at the booth.

Have a good Monday.  I'm off to make more coffee.

Stay Soft Shawl

I have a new sample ready for this weekend at New Hampshire Sheep & Wool.

Stay Soft Shawl (Ravelry link).  I wove in the ends and blocked this shawl as soon as it was off the needles.

For those who are interested, I used Lillian in Daiquiri Ice, Shocking and IPA.  There are many great color combos, and it's fun to play around with options.

If you want to see this sample (or any of the many others we'll have on hand), stop by our booth this weekend in Building A - Arts & Crafts.

Optimistic

Finished projects should be celebrated, and that's what I'm doing today.

Yesterday I finished my Stay Soft Shawl (Ravelry link) with an I-cord bind off, and today it's on the blocking mat. I would share a pic of the blocking, but the lighting is challenging.

I have another project that's almost finished - probably in a couple days.  It's only Monday, but I'm feeling extremely optimistic about the week.

Simmering

Dyeing yarn involves a certain amount of waiting.  I try to keep busy while the pots simmer and that often means knitting a few rows here and there.

I'm on the last short row section of my Masgot (Ravelry link).

I won't waste any time.  Just a few more stripes after this section and I'll be ready to bind off.

Calendar Update

There's a flurry of fiber events in the next few weeks, and I just updated the right sidebar with details.

At the top of the list is New Hampshire Sheep & Wool.

After many years of braving the elements outdoors, we finally have an indoor booth.  You'll find us in Building A.

If you're interested in show merchandise, pre-orders are open for travel mugs.  Place your order now and pick it up at the festival.  Be sure to check the website for information on weekend activities plus a complete list of vendors.

Hardy Souls

I'm slowly recovering from Connecticut Sheep and Wool. One of the nice things about this event is it's only one day.  The flip side is there's a lot of activity crammed into that one day.

The weather was wet and blustery, but that didn't keep people away.  Most of the vendors are indoors.  Late afternoon I took a quick break from the booth, and I was delighted to see people watching the herding demonstration from the protection of an overhang.  Fiber people are hardy souls.

Here's a quick glimpse of the booth.  Thanks to everyone who stopped by.

Next up is New Hampshire Sheep and Wool.  More on that in coming days.
