In My Dreams

I've been planning a new project.  I had even settled (or so I thought) on the colors and was ready to cast on today.  I must have been dreaming about this project last night.  This morning when I woke up I was still a little foggy, but I had other colors swirling around in my head.

I couldn't ignore the other color options so I pulled them.

Now I have a smorgasbord to choose from.  I guess I won't be casting on today.

Breathing Room

After a couple back-to-back fiber events, I have a little breathing room.  And that means more time for knitting.

Weekend Slipover V-neck (Ravelry link).  This project has been hanging out on a table near my desk.  A row here, a row there.

This is my second time through this pattern, so I know what to expect.  All those stitches here and there add up, and now I'm ready to pick up shoulder stitches and shift to the front.  I'm chugging right along and making forward progress.

Back on Track

It's been a few days since my last post.  I was caught up in a flurry of show prep and that meant I had very little time at my desk.  This week I'm taking a deep breath and picking up the pieces.

We had an awesome time at Farm Fiber Day on Sunday. It was so busy I didn't have time to take pictures.  Thanks to everyone who stopped by the booth.  If you missed it, we're doing it all again on March 3.

I've been finishing small projects here and there.

I'm in the home stretch with Yellow Brick Cowl (Ravelry link).  With any luck, I'll have it available for the trunk show this weekend at Another Yarn.  If you're in the Boston area, stop by.

Always Ready

I've made quite a bit of knitting progress this week but don't have pictures to share.  Maybe next week.

While I've been knitting, I've also been contemplating new projects.  Heaven forbid I should finish something and not have a new project ready to cast on right away.

One thing led to another, and before I knew it, I had wound these minis.  Something to look forward to as we head into the weekend.

This week's color inspiration is courtesy of my daughter and her travels.

A colorful mural.

January Update

I had plans to get some dyeing done today, but shipping and random errands took longer than expected.  That gave me a chance to catch up on a few things at my desk instead.

I updated the right sidebar with events for January.

Farm Fiber Day is right around the corner.  I know many people are looking forward to this bustling winter fiber market.  There will be a great group of vendors on hand. Be sure to follow the link for more information.

The following weekend I will be at Another Yarn in Burlington, MA with a selection of yarn and samples.  If you're in the area, stop by during shop hours.

If you're dealing with crazy winter weather, I hope you're warm and cozy.  And now I'm off to knit a few rows.

The Second Time Around

Every once in a while I come across a pattern I like so much I have to make it again.

The other day I wound yarn for a new project.

Over the weekend I cast on.  I'll see how quickly this Weekend Slipover V-neck (Ravelry link) comes together. Usually a project goes a little faster the second time around.

Extra Effort

The project I posted the other day has graduated to bigger needles.

Musselburgh (Ravelry link).

This hat has been in my queue for quite a while - I even had yarn picked out.  Then the other day I was compelled to cast on only with different colors.  I've learned there's no sense fighting inspiration when it hits.  Just roll with it.

As advertised, this project is a little fiddly to get up and running, but it's well worth the extra effort.  Now it's smooth sailing and effortless knitting.

I have one more holiday shot for this week's color inspiration.

Shades of the season.

New Year, New Projects

It's another short, confusing work week.  I'm trying to roll with it and have adjusted my expectations for productivity.

I've started a couple new projects, and there are more waiting in the wings.  I'm off to wind yarn and do a little browsing on Ravelry.  How's your new year going so far?
