Change Of Seasons Contest

Today I have bits of this and pieces of that to share with you.  First here's a quick update on Tower Mill Shawl.

I had some "issues" with it last night.  Too many interruptions in the middle of a row created a mess.  There was no way to recover except to take out a couple of rows.  With just over 300 stitches on the needles it was not a quick fix.

Everything is straightened out now, and I'm back on track.

The lacy windmill motif is beginning to emerge, and I'm anxious to watch the rest unfold.

If you're in the Boston area, this weekend is the Red Line Yarn Crawl. Three yarn stores on the Red Line of the subway have teamed up for a weekend of special events, prizes and more.  Check out Mind's Eye Yarns, Windsor Button and Stitch House for more details and information.

We had snow flurries yesterday, but the calendar says spring. To welcome the season I'm hosting a contest here on the blog.  Leave a comment and share what's on your needles.  I've been searching through patterns lately so I'm curious to see what others are knitting. The winner, chosen at random, will receive a $25 Dirty Water DyeWorks gift certificate.  The contest closes on Friday, April 1, 2011.

I received these as a gift, and they've sparked a desire to knit something with beads.  They are my color inspiration for the week.

Glistening orbs.

Hi! I am in the last section of the Great Purple Blob - otherwise known as the shawl from the Helen's Lace ball band - knitted with a skein of Helen's Lace, of course. It is quite remarkable how a skein of laceweight just goes on and on and on... rather like the Eveready Bunny.

Next I suppose I will turn back to the After Hours shawl, which has been waiting patiently in my bag. And I get to pick beads!

I'm working on Linda Irving-Bell's Wasabi Hat http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/wasabi-hat in Lucy's sock yarn colored lemon yellow, as part of Warm Hats Not Hot Heads, for Eleanor Holmes Norton. Started last Friday, almost through the lace and then start the plain stockinette.

I have a Massey scarf OTN and am thinking about starting a pair of socks. I am also going to start some kind of easy scarf to practice lever knitting.

I'm working on my first pair of socks (YES!) and I just started Laodice. In addition, I have a wrap cardigan waiting for sleeves and Watershed is about 2/3 done and calling to me to be completed.

Hello! I have a knitspot Les Abeilles shawl on the needles that I work on sporadically. Mostly though, it's socks all the time with me. I am finishing up a knitspot Movie Night sock and then will move on to finish up a different pair. (Or start a whole new pair which is far more likely!)

I am working on a sweater for a toddler for Easter. It's a white background with confetti like colored spots on it in cobalt blue, turquoise and yellow. It will have yellow ducky buttons on it. It's very springy!
