This is one of those days where I have a little bit of everything going on - dyeing yarn, shipping orders, answering email, pulling inventory for the weekend show. With any luck I'll also finish a new sample and maybe settle on my next new project. Just enough variety to make the day interesting.
I glanced at the calendar first thing this morning, and it's a good thing I did. In addition to a reminder that today is my sister and my niece's birthday (mother and daughter sharing the same birthday), I realized that April is right around the corner.

I am SO not ready for April. Also, since it was 11F this morning it still feels like february and it's hard to get in the mindset for spring.
I'm not knitting for spring yet either. Maybe I'll work on that languishing summer top I started 3 years ago.
It's encouraging to see patches of ground here and buds on the forsythia. Im looking for ideas for lightweight cardi or tee to knit and wear this summer.

I've been hearing the birds more in the past few weeks! Hopefully they know something encouraging about the weather! I'm happy to be knitting spring colored projects (pink, yellow, green etc) that were out aside during the winter. I'd love to try some of your yarn!

I guess the not-freezing temps are helping me realize spring is coming (maybe?), and the snow has finally melted enough that I can *almost* see the soil in our raised bed.
But I am still knitting cold-weather things because it is still cold here, especially at night!
I *am* dreaming of lacy spring scarves & shawls, though, in bright colors. I haven't dared to let myself look at new patterns until my taxes are done, though.

It's been Spring here in southeastern AZ for a couple of weeks already, even at my house (it comes here a week after it gets to town). Right now I'm finishing up one final winter project and then I get to start on my new linen garden hat. :) I'm so excited!

My spring knitting is a baby blanket in colorway pea pod. It's the perfect shade of spring green.
Having temps warm enough to take the pup on longer walks is my sign of spring. With neither of us freezing we're building her endurance back up for jogging and running.

I've transitioned to lighter weight knit accessories...the fingering weight hats get a turn now. But we still need hats so spring is trying, but not yet pushing winter out of the way.
I'll knit through the summer but mostly cold weather things. Then I'll have a new pile ready to go when the temps cool down again.

I see bulb flowers popping up, crocuses, daffodils and the Cherry Blossoms should be appearing shortly! I'm currently working on pencil socks, a bunny for my son using my handspun (Easter basket). Mostly I'm spinning though!

Spring is coming but I cast on a sweater for myself last week and am pretty please so far. I never knit for myself so this is a change. The spent time working in warmer climes this week but have to say I like seeing that last remnant of snow in the yard as things start to come alive. Probably time to start growing some seedlings indoors.

The crocus are starting to pop up here and the hyacinths, tulips and daffodils in our back yard are stretching up their green leaves timidly out of the ground. Yeah for some color other than white or brown!

Oddly, signs of spring have been present in Montana for weeks. Very strange winter with minimal snowfall. Usually my spring and summer knitting maintains my favorite color palette, neutrals and soft pink however the size of my projects get smaller. I also find I like to work with linen in the summer. The snow has melted enough that where the ground is beginning to show, the tips of the snowdrops are appearing. As I walked to my box to get my newspaper this morning, the sky was just brightening, and I expected to hear the call of the American Woodcock from across the field. Soon!

We are celebrating Maple Fest here in upstate NY this week, so spring may finally arrive sometime soon! The snow banks are a little smaller and I found the driveway this week, which means that Mud Season is right around the corner.

I live in the same area as you, and it's an unusual spring -- instead of crocuses and snowbells, I'm just happy to see the tops of my shrubs again! Nonetheless, I am feeling the urge to knit a lightweight tee in the near future.

Being in Canada, it still looks and feels like winter, but the Canada geese have started coming back, and that is a sure sighn spring is close. :) I am knitting a spring green cardigan though, since there is no green to be seen yet! Thanks for the chance to win. :)
I'm making a pink baby blanket using Anne Hanson's pattern hourglass throw pattern. Spring for me has started with the great news that my daughter made the jv track team - she was in tears last year when she didn't.

I can't wait for Spring, though my yard has 1 green tulip leaf. It was such a joy to see. I was reminded when. I saw that lovely green yarn gradient on the email. Though the temperatures aren't quite to stay stable. Tomorrow we are going to get snow, yet again.
Spring in Northern Michigan means the ice melts off Grand Traverse Bay! Too cold still for bare hands, but done wearing full mittens! The only sign of spring in southwest MI s the absence of snow! As for seasonal knitting, I'm not one. I knit whatever excites me and I'm the same with colors. Year-round I love grays but currently I'm obsessed with Christmas colors which is odd but I'm going with it.

It's finally thawing here - I guess puddles are our sign of spring (we've got birds too, but not much is green yet). I'm not knitting spring/summer projects yet because I haven't finished my winter ones, but it does feel like it might be time for some brighter colours.

I've seen a couple of fat, little robins looking for something to eat. It was nice to see them looking healthy this year. The flock that flew in here last year arrived in February and were already looking thin. I think they were smart this year and got a later start!
