For Monday

I don't know where the month of February went, but here we are looking at the last week already.  That means it's time for the monthly giveaway.  Leave a comment and share what you're working on.  Did you challenge yourself with a project for the Olympics?  If so, did you complete the challenge?  Comments on any projects are welcome - they don't have to be Olympics related.

The winner, chosen at random, will receive a skein of yarn from Dirty Water DyeWorks - winner's choice.  The contest closes on Sunday, March 2, 2014.

And now I'm off to tackle Monday.  I think I'll start here.

This yarn needs a sock pattern.

I'm working on a pair of socks. More precisely - the second sock. The first one flew off the needles but the second one isn't following suit. How is that possible??

I'm working on a ColorAffection Shawl that for some reason seems to go on forever. Just finishing a scarf in German Angora - can't wait to wear it after weaving rest of ends in.

This is the year of finishing unfinished projects for me. I'm working on a sweater I hadn't touched in a few years, from a pattern passed on to me from my mother. I really can't figure out why I stopped working on it. Plus I'm finishing another sweater started a few months ago (just the sleeves to go), working on a pair of socks for my son, and making fingerless mitts to give to office colleagues next year when the college turns down the heat during winter break. And, getting ready for Spa, Knit, & Spin - going with my usual cohort for part of the day on Saturday. See you there?

5276I'm working on a CustomFit sweater in AslanTrends Royal Alpaca. I'm going to wear it on Pesach!

(BTW, I'm designing a sweater. When I've finished the plans, can I email you about it and ask for yarn support like you tweeted about?)

I am the type of the knitter that needs to have at least 3 projects going on at the same time;)
I just finished Yvaine shawl in Bertha (tidal wave). I am ready to do the lace portion on Holden shawl. Almost finished with Dovetail cowl (Edna in slate). And I just started my Custom Fit Morning Coffee cardigan.
This winter has been good kniiting weather!

I'm working on some Latvian Fingerless Mitts I started two years ago. At one point they broke my brian, so I put them away to think about what they had done :)

I'm knitting a pair of socks with the yarn from the Fall Yarn Knot which is a lovely red. This was my Olympic Game challenge, but alas I am only finishing the toe on the first sock. I will press on though and make sure I cast on for the second sock straight away! The socks are a Gansey-inspired pattern with little embossed hearts---what's not to love?

Just finished Ravi Junior baby sweater size 1 from kit purchased at KnitEast in St. Andrews NB Canada last Sept. with your blue-faced Leicester superwash yarn in cranberry colour. It looks terrific on my dark-haired dark-eyed 10 month old granddaughter. Had enough yarn left over to make a hat too. Also socks and scarves are always on the needles for social knitting times.

I'm working on a Custom Fit open cardigan - My row gauge must be off (it's tweed and difficult to count) but the stitch gauge is correct because it blocks out to the correct width. I'll be glad when it's done!

Thanks for the giveaway! I have always wanted to knit Anne Hanson's Curling Mitts in one of your grey colorways! I am on a sock binge right now, though, so am off to your shop to check the updates for sock yarns!

I am working on a sock- toe up, two circular needles, lace pattern. I bought yarn/pattern five years ago and was defeated. Now, after five years of knitting and challenging myself, I figured it out! I love hand knitted socks- they are a luxurious feel.

I made a pair of slipper socks for my mom during the Olympics. I just cast on (and I mean just, I'm 10 rows in) Dracula's Bride by Renee Leverington (Goddess Knits). I also have a scarf, a stole, a pair of socks, a shawl, a camisole and a parasol in progress. Gotta have a project for every mood.

I am knitting a red and white striped stocking cap for my 26 year old son. I started it last year and put it away. It is almost three ft long. I am almost ready to cast off and make a large red pompom. My son is a "character" and plans to wear the hat to hockey games etc... It has become a work of art and I am scared that someone will try to snatch it off his head!

February hasn't been a particularly productive month for me. I have a shawlette in work and that's been my only project this month.

I just started a sock yarn blanket, this is so fun. I just love all the colors together. Need more sock yarn.

My Olympics project was to finish up some wallowing projects. I did finish socks and a shawl and made good progress on two sweaters that just needed finishing. So even though I didn't reach my Olympic dream, at least I'm inspired to keep going.
