The Last Stop

Last but not least . . . the final stop on the Holla Knits Blog Tour.  I had the good fortune to work with Allyson again on her latest edition of patterns.  The Holla Knits pattern collection features designs in a wide range of sizes and highlights both commercial and indie dyer yarns.

When working on a project like this, there's always some back and forth discussion - design features, yarn weight, color options.  In the end we settled on this combination.

Sexxxy Librarian.

A vest is the perfect choice when you need a little something for warmth but don't want the extra weight and bulk of a sweater.  This design features several nice details.

Cables.

And a cowl.

The yarn is Dirty Water DyeWorks Edna, colorway Celery.  Edna is a DK Polwarth wool / silk blend.  It creates a gorgeous knitted fabric - perfect for vests, sweaters and so much more.  I've promised myself that as soon as the fall rush is over, I'm casting on with Edna.

To celebrate the Blog Tour I'm giving away a free copy of the Sexxxy Librarian pattern.  Leave a note in the comments and tell us what you're knitting this fall.  You have until October 2 to enter.  The winner will be announced on October 3.

As a bonus I'm offering free shipping on all orders.  Visit Dirty Water DyeWorks to see the full lineup of yarn and kits.  Simply enter "Holla Knits" in the comments section of the shopping cart, and your shipping charges will be refunded.  This offer is good for 2 weeks and expires on October 10.

If you haven't done so already, be sure to visit all the other stops on the Tour.

I've committed myself to knitting my mom a Christmas sweater this fall. But all these lovely patterns are testing my ability to resist casting on a few other things as well!!!

I've been knitting lots of colorwork, so using fingering weight yarn and tiny needles. It might be time to bust out a nice quick lovely vest.

I'm trying to start on Christmas gifts - making hats and mittens for all my great nieces and nephews

i'm finishing one shawl, starting another and have three pairs of sox in various stages and one sweater the needs the sleeves on other needles. this vest is great ... i don't know if i could leave the armholes unfinished, but then, i frequently make little changes as i work.

Right now I am knitting a few items. I bought a pattern when I went to Stitches Midwest and it is a cardigan. I also am knitting a shawl and a scarf.

This fall I am teaching myself how to knit socks! I'm also working on a short sleeve cardigan to layer over long sleeve tees and hoodies. If I won your giveaway I'd add sexxxxy librarian to the top of my queue for its layering potential. I also need to cast on a hat for my stepdaughter and a sweater for my daughter.

Thanks for a fun giveaway.

I'm working on my first shawl! I'm definitely excited to get some nice warm projects started though...

I'm knitting not one, but two Icelandic sweaters with Icelandic yarn. In theory, they should be done by this time next year. I *may* have over-committed!!

Knitting a shawl for my newly married daughter. It is my first time working with beads! Can't wait to get to the border and play with the beads...
I love the vest. It would be a great break from lace!
