Connecticut Recap

I'm off and running this Monday morning after a lovely Saturday in Connecticut.  I have several pressing deadlines in the next few days (why are they always clustered together?), so this post will be brief.

Saturday got off to a chilly start.  I should have noticed the frost alert warning on my phone, but I was too busy with booth details to pay attention.

The bright sunshine was enough to make me forget about the temperature.

Sheryl from Spin-a-Bit had some lovely batts.  I was tempted.  If you want to see for yourself, she'll be at Maryland Sheep and Wool this coming weekend.

People often ask if I have my own sheep.  No, but I think I could manage this kind.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by my booth.  It was a pleasure to chat about yarn, projects and colorways.

We're getting ready to wrap up another month, and that means it's time for the April giveaway.  Leave a comment and include your Ravelry ID. What are you knitting these days?  Is there an interesting pattern that's captured your attention?  Are there any spring fiber events on your calendar?

The winner, chosen at random, will receive a skein of Dirty Water DyeWorks yarn - winner's choice.  The contest closes on Sunday, May 3, 2015.

With the warmer weather upon us, I'm thinking about fingering weight sweaters and excited about RI Sheep & Wool at Coggeshall Farm!

Right now it's all about dishcloth design in cotton and a delicate shawl in lace weight mohair blend. I loved your colors and shawl patterns at CT Festival! Wish money were no object!

Oh I'm in way too deep with numerous projects! But that's what makes it fun to be a knitter, right? Thanks for the chance to win!

Looking forward to my knitting guild retreat in June and have shawl projects lined up. They're great for a cool evening breeze or too cool AC.

So looking forward to the Maine Fiber Frolic this year and checking out your beautiful yarns again. Loved the Wisp which I purchased last year. Right now I'm plugging along on an Aran cardigan for a friend. I'm jeand on Ravelry.

I'm knitting the shawl "sugared violets" and just cast on the sweater "on your toes" I'll see you at NHS&W. (LilyD on ravelry)

I'm not knitting much at all these days - work is still getting in the way. We do have a new person now, though, so once the training progresses a bit I should have more time.

I have a couple of pairs of socks on the needles right now, but my next project will be for a baby; the exciting news of the month is that I'm going to be an aunt!

Not much time to knit these days, working overtime a lot this month. Looking forward to NH S&W next month! Still need to knit my Ruby tunic for which I purchased yarn at last year's festival!

Knitting gifts most often these days.... Washcloth sets for bridal showers, a shawl for Mother's Day and a sweater for a grand.

As usual, I have so many things on my needles at the moment! The one that is getting the most attention from me right now, though, is a circular pi shawl I'm knitting as part of a KAL in Ravelry's Wollmeise group. It's the biggest lace project I've ever tackled, and I decided to add beads, too, to make it even more of a challenge! Thanks for the chance to win.

I've been knitting mittens and mitts. Not so useful for warm weather. I'm looking forward for shawls and trying some warm weather materials like linen. Think I might try strathcona for my next pattern.

I'm working on a beautiful shawl for a test knit, full of stripes and lace, very modern and wearable. I cast on my first pair of toe-up socks the other day, and am playing around with that for fun. The yarn is a self-striping, so I'm letting it do most of the work for me. I've got two SQs of yarn coming my way, for some lovely summer garments to keep my needles happy. I've done the only pre-planned fiber thing I do already, as Rose City Yarn Crawl happened in March. I may look for a fiber festival though.

I am ktsmurf on Ravelry.

It's all about the socks for me. I've been trying out different constructions, afterthought heel, eye of partridge heel, etc. searching for a favorite. No spring events on schedule for me, looking forward to Rhinebeck in the fall. Rav ID-cookier293

I have my mojo back and doing shawls. Just got a pattern called Aspen Leaf by Dorothy Siemens, that looks very interesting. I really like the way she charted it.

I have a baby dress on the needles, Lucy and a scarf/shawl called Lichen. Both projects will come with me to a knitting retreat this weekend at Purity Springs Resort in NH. Put on by Ana Campos, Toil and Trouble. So you know I will need more yarn.

Oh I so wish there were some fiber events nearby AZ is not the knitting capital. Hope to get to NH this summer

For spring, I'm finishing a pair of socks (Pipkin) and a sweater (Iced), hoping to have them to wear before the weather gets too warm.

I'd love to do the wool and yarn tours with you, I'd be happy to work the booth! Too bad my job won't let me.

I'm finishing up an adorable baby sweater for a friend, and the Hamsa Mitten pattern even though we're heading into summer...yikes!

I'm excited to start the Tranquille crocheted shawl next, I think it will be a nice, simple break from stranded knitting and I love the colors I have picked out for it (a rich oceanic blue and a pale gold).

Sadly there are no Spring Plans. There's the Ouessant sheep to visit this Saturday, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to make, though I want to!

I have 2 alternating projects on needles at the moment...Stars and Moons Shawl by Audrey Morris and a Lush sweater by TinCanKnits. And both happen to be blue! But about 20 others are on needles if what's in my thoughts were reality...

I'm knitting socks, socks and a few more socks. My favorite pattern is Sideswipe by Kate Gilbert http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/sideswipe but I'm thinking about trying Stitch Surfer by Louise Robert http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/stitch-surfer. Sadly there are no fiber events in my future.

Moving from Milwaukee to Clearwater FL this weekend, so I absolutely have summer weather on my mind and warm weather accessories! I hope to do some spinning and dying. And knitting on the beach sounds lovely.

Spinning more wolf fiber, so I can make more lace scarves, and starting to give the llamas their bubble baths before I shear them. Looking for more lace patterns that won't get lost in the incredible "halo" of the wolf fiber!

I have had an obsession with shawl patterns lately. I am just finishing "Nurmilintu" by Heidi Alander. My next projects will be 2 pairs of "Moonkoosa Boots" by Tiny Owl Knits - for my 2 beautiful granddaughters.

As for fiber festivals...I would love to go to one, but there aren't any close to me. (RavID: jaydawnrn)
