It's a wrap. I had a delightful, busy weekend at Fiber Festival of New England. Thanks to everyone who stopped by the booth. It's a bittersweet feeling now that my big fall shows are finished. I'll miss the hustle and bustle, but it'll be nice to slow down a little and put my feet up.
There were cute animals this weekend and all sorts of inspiring creations, but I didn't get a chance to take any pictures. I did wander out of the booth just long enough to do a little damage at White Birch Fiber Arts and Three Bags Full.
I'm not normally a pink person, so this combination is a little out of character. I must have had a pink deficiency and didn't know it.
When I finally put my feet up, it looks like I'll be doing some sock knitting. But first I have to empty the truck.

Snapshots from Fiber Festival of New England
It's Monday morning, and I'm savoring an inspiring weekend. Fiber Festival of New England was fun all around. This event is like the slow version of Rhinebeck. It's a busy show, but I still get to chat with people, offer color suggestions and catch up with friends. It was an action-packed weekend and a great way to wrap up the fall show season.
Here's a glimpse.
There were animals.
Tables full of fiber.
Yarn.
And more yarn.
Wool for rug hooking.
I did a double take when I saw this . . . so lifelike and truly a work of art.
My daughters drove out and spent a day. We had some
mother-daughter time and even managed pedicures and dinner. Our time together is always a treat - even when Luz sticks her tongue out at me.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by this weekend! And now I'm off to get busy.

Snapshots from Fiber Festival of New England
I'm recovering from another splendid weekend on the road. Fiber Festival of New England wasn't my last event of the year, but it was the last one for a full booth setup. Now I can finally empty my truck.
I love this event, and this year was no exception. It draws an amazing group of talented craftspeople. Here's a glimpse.
Pat from A Fistful of Felt created this lifelike cow. Take a look at her Facebook page for more fabulous creations.
Members from the Rhode Island Spinners Guild were busy all weekend teaching new spinners. If you're in the area and want to try spinning, be sure to connect with this group.

Snapshots from Fiber Festival of New England
I'm in a fog this morning . . . must be a fiber hangover. I had a whirlwind weekend at Fiber Festival of New England. Here's a peek.
Every time I see bobbin lace in production, I marvel that it's not a massive tangle of thread. It's always interesting to hear the backstory. The woman working on this piece was a potter. She took up bobbin lace because she wanted a craft that didn't require a whole room full of equipment.
Gradient packs from Romney Ridge Farm.
A unicorn from A Fistful of Felt stopped by to visit the booth.
And then there were buttons from Jane Quimby.
I have a real weakness for buttons and could have gone missing for a couple hours. It's a good thing I only had a few minutes to browse.
Thanks to everyone who turned out. I appreciate all the show and tell items that people brought to the booth and enjoyed chatting with each and every one of you. It was a lovely weekend.
One final note. If you're planning to attend Knitting Weekend in January, this is the last week for early bird rates. See the website for details.

Monday Numbers
Two. The number of days I spent at Fiber Festival of New England.
It was a crazy busy weekend - exhausting but fun.
I would have loved more time to browse the market . . . so many ideas, so much inspiration.
Take this Chakra Beret Kit from Sunrise Hill Farm. I was tempted to dust off my long-neglected crochet skills to make this hat. This morning I'm still thinking about the kit. I'm trying to decide if I should take that as a sign.
Soap, pumpkins and so much more.
One. The number of events I have left this year. On November 15 and 16 I'll be at Green Mountain Fiber Festival.
Zero. The number of stitches I knit this weekend.
I had good intentions but didn't pick up my needles once. Today I'm making up for lost knitting time.
Congratulations to NicoleS. She's the winner of the October giveaway. Be sure to follow along. I'll be doing it again later this month.

Close To Home
It's Monday morning, and I'm catching my breath. My inbox is full, the dirty laundry is piled high and the refrigerator is empty. Before I get to work, I'm going to indulge and savor the weekend for just a little longer.
On Friday I drove out to Western Massachusetts and Fiber Festival of New England. This fall I've logged so many miles on the Mass Pike that my truck should know the way by now. Of all the events, this one is closest to home. It was nice to see so many locals come out.
The market was busy, but the pace was relaxed. There was enough time to talk with people - answer questions, discuss knitting techniques, consider color combinations, catch up with friends. And yes, there was even some baseball chatter.
For today . . . a picture postcard of some of the fun.
Memories of a delightful fiber weekend to carry me through the busy week ahead.
