It's the season for hats, and these days I always have at least one on the needles.
This is Skift Hat. I cast on the other day and have been knitting here and there in between other projects. It all adds up, and now I'm close to the crown.
The interesting challenge with this project is the yardage. According to the pattern, I'll need a second skein. That seemed reasonable when I started because the hat has a folded brim. Now that I'm closing in on the tiptop, it seems I might need only one skein.
Right now I think I have enough with this skein, but I know from experience that the yarn goes quickly at the end of a ball. I can't wait to find out.
