It's a double Sunday - my daughter's name for Monday holidays. So far it's been a productive weekend.
The Crown Wools. Finished.
This was a MKAL with two clues released every week for six weeks. Twelve colors, twelve different sections.
The clues were manageable, so it was easy to keep up. The sections had a lot of variety . . . an entertaining project all around.
If you missed out and want to get in on the action, there's a KAL starting on September 10.
You'll find this color combination and other options here.
And now I'm off to enjoy my double Sunday.

And Then There Was One
The Crown Wools MKAL is drawing to a close, and I hate to see the adventure end. I don't have a good track record with completing MKALs. The clues keep coming and the project falls by the wayside as I get distracted with other projects and more pressing deadlines. Not this time.
I started with this assortment.
I've worked my way through all these colorful little balls.
And this is the last one standing.
Over the weekend my daughter looked at my lap full of colorful knitting and asked what I'm making. She had seen the yarn bundle when I started and knew about all the colors. I started to hold it up and then I put it down. "Wait until it's blocked. It's going to be amazing."

Knitting Homework
I know the summer is slipping away, so I'm trying to make the most of it. This week I still have some scheduled family activities running in the background, but I've managed to incorporate more knitting time along the way.
So many projects need attention. Tomorrow new clues come out for The Crown Wools MKAL, so I'm feeling a sense of urgency with this one.
It's kind of like homework, but let's face it. Knitting homework is more fun than the homework we got in school.

In the Game
Whoosh! I don't know where the week went, but we've landed on another weekend.
On the knitting front, I finished last week's clues for The Crown Wools MKAL shortly after the clues for this week were released. I'm feeling good. One week out, and I'm still in the game.
One of my summer goals is to spend more time with the family, so I'm off to do that. This week's color inspiration . . .
Splashes of color on the sand.

Arranging and Rearranging
I've mentioned before that I'm driven by deadlines. Everything from knitting projects to an oil change . . . the most pressing deadline moves to the top of the list.
Yesterday was the kickoff of The Crown Wools MKAL. My record for completing KALs is far from stellar, but I do like to start with the pack. Usually something urgent surfaces, and I'm forced to abandon the KAL for something else. See above reference to deadlines.
Last night it was getting late, and I hadn't even cast on because I was still debating the arrangement of my 12 colors. I could make color decisions on the fly, but I really wanted to iron out the order before I started. One less thing to think about.
So I played around with different options. Took pictures. Rearranged some more. Took a few more pictures. After all that, I finally settled on something.
Of course all that arranging and rearranging ate a lot of my knitting time, but I did manage to get through the set up rows. It's a start.
This week's color inspiration . . .
Sweet pink.

Random on Wednesday
On the needles. There's not much new to report over here.
I'm chugging along on my Surge. Section 3 is almost finished, and I'm just shy of 200 stitches. I have two sections left, and of course the rows are getting noticeably longer. My thoughts of a quick finish are entirely delusional, but that won't keep me from entertaining thoughts of my next project.
On the website. I posted a quick update for The Crown Wools MKAL.
Color Bundles are now available and will ship in time for the July 19 kickoff.
