This Rhinebeck sample is fresh off the needles.
Down The Road and Back Again.
This shawl has an interesting construction. Simple stripes paired with slip stitches provide texture. Increases and decreases create a crescent shape.
To utilize most of your yarn, the pattern includes instructions based on the weight of each ball.
I followed those directions but could have worked a couple more repeats before starting the decreases. On the other hand, it was nice to avoid playing a game of yarn chicken.
The yarn is Lillian Sprinkles and Lillian Ribbit. Picking colors is always part of the fun, and using Sprinkles opens up all sorts of possibilities.
There are so many great murals around town, and I wish I had time to capture more of them. This one caught my eye recently and is this week's color inspiration.
Soothing colors with a splash of red.

Specklate
This has been one of those weeks, but I'm always looking for the positive. I didn't make forward progress on many things, but I did finish a sample.
Specklate.
This was a fun project with plenty of variety. Simple slip stitches create texture and contrast.
This shawl was close to being finished for a while, so it felt good to wrap it up.
Specklate was outside the box for me. Usually I use a semi-solid color for lace. Since the Lillian Sprinkles aren't too busy, I decided to give it a whirl. The worst that can happen is I have to rip it out. It's always good to experiment, and I'm happy I did.
The other color is the popular Lillian Pumice. Specklate is another good project for playing around with color combinations.
This week's color inspiration is one of my favorite combos.
Browns and blues.

Kallara
Whoosh!
My Kallara is off the needles and is ready for tomorrow's outing to Farm Fiber Day.
This was a fun project all around. The stripes are made with Lillian Celestial and Sprinkles. The Sprinkles skein adds random splashes of color and entertainment value. Once again you can have all kinds of fun picking and choosing colors.
This garter stitch shawl is cozy and cushy. I might have to make another one just for me.
I'm not usually into pink, but even I couldn't resist this week's color inspiration.
To brighten a winter day . . .
