I'm pulling everything together for this weekend and that included a little blocking.

This cowl is almost effortless and makes a perfect on-the-go project.

After an incredible weekend of baseball, the season is over. And so is my excuse to sit and knit.
I finished one mohair project (not yet blocked) and started another one. This is Violet Waffles. There's nothing like a hat project for instant gratification, and this one was mindless enough to get me through some tense innings.

I had planned to cast on a sweater after Rhinebeck, but I've taken a slight detour.
The allure of Shimmer was too great. I'm still a little wobbly from Rhinebeck, and there's something comforting about working with this mohair and silk blend. And look at that halo! I'm mesmerized.
The fall colors don't seem as brilliant this year, but I still enjoy the change. This week's color inspiration . . .
Rhinebeck foliage.
I'm still in a Rhinebeck daze, but the fog is lifting. I took extra time and drove back on Monday, so I lost a day this week. Now I'm deep in preparation for Fiber Festival of New England. Back to reality.
Here's a little something I didn't have time to share before Rhinebeck.
Mad's Hat.
This is a quick little project. It uses fingering weight held double. I went the extra step and added the optional mohair. I used Lillian and Shimmer (mohair / silk) both in March Sky. I plan to list Shimmer on the website after Fiber Festival of New England.
This is such a warm, cozy hat. My daughter thought it could use a pompom, so I'm off to see what I have in my pompom stash. Yes, I have a pompom stash. Don't you?
I'm checking in one last time before I hit the road. I finished this sample earlier in the week.
Copenhagen Calling.
No matter how much I plan ahead, there's always last minute sample knitting. In fact I finished another sample last night. Let me just say, these late-night Red Sox games have been a godsend.
This design features a little ribbing, some slip stitches and a lace panel. Plenty of variety to go around.
The yarn is Lucia DK, colorways Persimmon and March Sky. I reduced the stitch count a bit so I would only have to use one skein of Persimmon. I suggest two skeins of the second color even though I only used one. I had just a couple inches to spare.

If I had to give it a name, I'd call it aubergine.
Yesterday was one of those days . . . full of obstacles and interruptions that threw my Rhinebeck prep off course. But today is a new day and I'm back at it.
This sweater is headed to Rhinebeck.

This size is a little big on my daughter, but you get the idea.
This design is full of interesting little details to keep you on your toes. Once the top part is done, the rest of the body is a relaxing knit.
The yarn is Lucia DK, colorway Sunflower. We'll have plenty of colors to choose from this weekend at Rhinebeck.
And now I'm off to make up for lost time.

Like most Casapinka designs, this cowl features plenty of stitch variety.
Add some color changes and you have a fun, entertaining knit.
