Today's post is somewhat random but not completely unrelated to knitting. I was listening to a podcast that had nothing to do with knitting. The person being interviewed (a man) stated that he was going to stick to his knitting.
In my family, we often play a game of where did that word or phrase come from? The English language is full of interesting twists and turns. I couldn't resist finding out more about this phrase.
According to Oxford Languages, the phrase stick to your knitting means: concentrate on an area of familiar activity rather than diversify.
Curiosity got the better of me, and I dug a little deeper. I found this interview that provides more information.
The internet is a wonderful thing.
