On the Calendar

For today, a quick reminder about Fiber Festival of New England.

I don't know where October went, but this event is happening next weekend.  We'll have a spacious,       well-stocked booth full of hand-dyed yarn, knitting kits and yarn bundles.  As usual, there will be plenty of samples on display.

You'll find us in Booth 432/33 East.  Be sure to head to the event website for a complete list of vendors and weekend activities.

This week's color inspiration brings me cheer.

A Spark of Inspiration

I knew I'd sort out the details of a new project eventually. Yesterday I settled on the pattern.

Today I picked the yarn.  Dusk plus Dusk.  This combo has been waiting in the wings for a while, but this morning I had a spark of inspiration and it all came together.

Right now I'm bogged down with piles of wet yarn that are drying so slowly.  Believe it or not, this new project is the highlight of my day.  I'm off to wind yarn.

Percolating . . .

It's Monday, and I don't have anything new on the needles.  I spent a fair amount of time over the weekend browsing on Ravelry.  I have plenty of ideas - just haven't made any decisions yet.

While the possibilities percolate, I picked up a project that is almost finished.

This Love Note (Ravelry link) was hanging out near my desk all weekend.  Originally I had planned to finish it before Rhinebeck.  In the midst of Rhinebeck prep, I ran into some technology and equipment malfunctions that sucked up any extra time I had for knitting.  Now I've set Fiber Festival of New England as the deadline.  As long as I don't have any more breakdowns, this is totally realistic.

One more thought for today.  The Hope & Sunshine Fundraiser is running right now to raise money for breast cancer research.  Most of us have been touched by breast cancer in one way or another.  Follow the link for more information.  Donate and enter to win one of the fantastic fiber prizes.

Fruit Tingles Shawl

I had several new samples on display at Rhinebeck and haven't shared many of them as finished objects. Here's a quick look at one of them.

Fruit Tingles Shawl (Ravelry link).  I paired Lillian Fog with a Mini Multi Bundle (No. 6  to be exact).  The colored sections include a fun stitch pattern.  I had to pay attention on those rows, but they weren't hard.  The rest was relaxing garter stitch.

Cheers to the weekend.  I'm looking forward to planning a new project or two.

One More Day . . .

I have a long dyeing list and had every intention of making a dent in it today, but somehow the time got away from me.  I guess I'm still recovering from Rhinebeck. Now that it's mid-afternoon, I think I'll shift gears and save the dyeing for tomorrow.  Maybe I'll get my new label printer up and running.

And then I can cast on a new project.

More Coffee

I don't think I can consume enough coffee today.  I'm trying to be productive while dealing with a serious Rhinebeck hangover.  Unfortunately my schedule doesn't allow for a day off right now, so I'm muddling along with the help of extra caffeine.

So far I've done a load of laundry, emptied a section of the truck and sorted out some inventory issues.  I'm formulating a schedule for the rest of the week so I can gear up for Fiber Festival of New England.  A fresh list is in order.

For today, here's a quick look at our Rhinebeck booth. We had great fun.  Thanks to everyone who stopped by!

And now I'm off to make more coffee.

Rhinebeck and More

The race is on.  I still have a few skeins drying, many skeins that need labels and I just blocked my last sample. In a case of terrible timing, the label printer bit the dust the other day.  Now coffee is my constant companion while I write labels by hand.

If you're going to Rhinebeck, stop by and say hi.  You'll find us in Building C, Booth 42.

We'll have a booth full of hand-dyed yarn, knitting kits and yarn bundles.  Many samples will be on display, including the one that's blocking right now.

Also, the Rhinebeck Collection from Katrinkles will be available in our booth.

For those who can't make it to Rhinebeck, we're offering free shipping this weekend.  No code needed.

In other news, we've collaborated with Salt Yarn Studio again on another collection of Gift Knits.  There are several patterns to choose from plus we're offering Zoom sessions as an opportunity for knitting help or just to connect with other knitters.  You'll find all the details on the Salt Yarn website.

I look forward to seeing some of you this weekend.  If you don't have time to stop, wave as you pass by.

Weekend Plans

It's a holiday weekend across North America.  Judging from the traffic report I just heard, a lot of people are traveling.  I'm still deep in prep work for Rhinebeck, so I won't be going anywhere.

I have piles and piles of skeins that need labels.  I'll put on a podcast to keep me company.  Cheers to the weekend!  Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian neighbors!

Rhinebeck Preview - Wildwood

Time flies in the fall!  I blinked and lost a week.  Yes, it was a busy week including a whirlwind trip to Vermont. Thanks to everyone who stopped by the booth.  It was fun to see familiar faces and make new friends.

Now I'm in the midst of the chaos that is Rhinebeck prep. I'm pretty sure I'm adding to my lists faster than I'm checking things off.  Eventually the tide will turn, and I'll be able to tick off a bunch of to-do items.

Here's a peek at one of the new Rhinebeck samples.

Wildwood Shawl.  The pattern calls for three colors, and I chose Lillian in Cool Waters, Ginger and Pearl.  Stripes, lace, short rows . . . this design has a variety of entertaining elements.  The shawl is substantial and easy to wear.  Take a look at this pattern if you want to play with a combination of three colors.
