Weekend Slipover

As promised, here's a shot of my recently finished Weekend Slipover V-neck (Ravelry link).

This is a great design, and I'm thrilled with the finished sweater.  The pattern is well written and includes a few tidy details.  All the edges are finished with Italian bind off. The yarn is Marybelle DK held with Shimmer, both in Dark Chocolate.

I'm smitten and am already planning another one.  This time I might omit the v-neck and opt for Weekend Slipover (Ravelry link).  But first, I have to pick the color.

The last couple days I've been procrastinating on show prep, but it's time to get in gear and pack inventory. Maybe I'll pull a couple color options while I work.

Monday Update

It's only Monday, and the week is getting away from me already.  Before I forget.  If you're heading to Connecticut Sheep, Wool & Fiber on Saturday, you'll find our booth in Barn 3.  Stop by and say hi.

I did some finishing over the weekend (pics will have to wait for another time), and I also started something new.

I'm still stuck on stripes.

Productive Days

The big spring shows are right around the corner, and my days are busy with dyeing.

Plus I have a few new colors I'd like to add to the mix. With any luck I'll be able to take them on the road too.

Italian bind off update.

Since I last posted about this project, I bound off both armholes and the neck edge on my Weekend Slipover V-neck (Ravelry link).  In case you're wondering, I used Marybelle DK held with Shimmer, both in Dark Chocolate.

The sweater has had a bath and is blocking as I type this. Finished.  It's been a productive week.

Waiting in the Wings

With one project in the final stage of bind off, I have the motivation to finish a couple lingering projects.  You know those lingering projects.  The ones you set aside for "just a day or two" so you can play around with a new and better project.  A couple days turn into a couple weeks and well, you know how it goes.

This project is waiting in the wings.

It hasn't been lingering too long, but I am anxious to get it off the needles.  I just need to sit down with the pattern and figure out the border section.  Once I have the border up and running, the rest will be easy.

Italian Bind Off

It's Marathon Monday, but I'm trying to have a productive work day.  There are plenty of sports distractions today, so I'll have to see how much I actually accomplish.

Over the last week or so, I've been busy finishing projects.  That's always a good feeling.

My Italian bind off is off the needles.  This method takes a little more time than the standard bind off, but the end result is worth it.  If you're curious and want to give it a try, take a look at this video by PetiteKnit.

And now I'm off to see what else I can finish.

Finally Friday

It's been a week with a little bit of everything, so I'm more than happy to head into the weekend.  My goal is a couple relaxing days with plenty of time for knitting.

This project is at the top of the list.  Holiday or not, cheers to the weekend!

Used Equipment

People often ask me about used fiber equipment, so I thought I'd share this resource.

The Used Equipment Exchange is hosted by the Vermont Fibershed.  They've created a space for free classified ads.  Do you have some fiber equipment that needs a new home?  Or are you looking for used equipment? Follow the link and check it out.

Craving Sunshine

I'm feeling very efficient.  It's only Monday, and I've already checked off several top priority items on my weekly to-do list.  Now that I have a little breathing room in my schedule, it seemed like a good idea to play with a new project.

Yellow is a popular color this time of year and for good reason.  I think we all crave a little sunshine.  I definitely couldn't resist a bit of yellow cheer.
