In and Out

This has been a busy production week.  Yarn coming in, yarn shipping out.  I haven't had much computer time, but I jumped on this afternoon to put out a quick reminder.

Maine Fiber Frolic is on the calendar for next weekend, June 1 and 2.  This delightful show has animals, workshops, a fleece barn, a used equipment sale, great food (plus ice cream!) and more.  Bring the whole family. There's something for everyone.

I'll be there with an awesome group of vendors.  With any luck, I'll have a new sample or two.  Be sure to visit the website for all the details.  I look forward to seeing our Maine fiber friends.

Looking Ahead to Maine

Welcome to a new week.  I'm starting things off with a little event publicity.

Maine Fiber Frolic.  This is the last of the New England spring fiber festivals.  I'll be there with an awesome group of vendors representing a wide range of fiber arts.

If you're in the market for fiber equipment, take a peek at the Used Equipment Area.  There's usually a large selection at reasonable prices.  This is a fun festival for the whole family.  Be sure to check the event website for more information.

Monday Chores

After a busy weekend on the road, I'm slowing getting my bearings today.  Another Fiber Frolic is in the books.  Thanks to everyone who came out.  There was show and tell (I forgot to take pictures) and some interesting discussions.  Great fun all around!

Just because I'm taking it easy, doesn't mean there isn't work to do. I've already started the laundry, and now I'm off to unload the truck.
But first, more coffee.

I'm trying to get my bearings after a gorgeous weekend in Maine. Weather can be an issue at this event and it started out a little shaky, but everything was in order by Saturday morning.  It was delightful.

This is a relaxed show.  There's time to chat with people and share ideas.  Thanks to everyone who came out for the Frolic.

This was the last festival of the spring season, but there's no time off. New adventures are right around the corner.

After a busy weekend in Maine, I thought I would take it easy today, but that's not going to happen.  Household duties call.  Putting together a good cup of coffee this morning was a struggle, so grocery shopping has moved to the top of the list.

The weather cooperated, the food was exceptional, the conversations and connections were inspiring . . . a delightful weekend all around.  

Frolic Snapshots

Another busy weekend has come and gone.  I enjoy traveling around New England, and at every event I see a different circle of people.  I had a delightful weekend in Maine . . . perfect weather, good food, interesting conversations.

With that, the spring show season is over.  Now I can start thinking about summer.

The Frolic

Mondays can be challenging, and after a weekend in Maine, this Monday is even more so.   I could easily have been convinced to spend an extra day, but I don't have that flexibility with my schedule. It's Monday morning, and I'm back at it.

Fiber Frolic is always fun.  The pace is relaxed, so there's plenty of time to talk with customers and connect with other vendors.  I don't have that luxury at some of my other events.

A few weeks ago I realized I didn't have enough project bags, but I was busy and didn't do anything about it.  I'm glad I waited.

Project bags from Three Bags Full.  It didn't take me long to fill them. It's time for more coffee and maybe just a row or two.

And Then There Were None

This past weekend I was at Maine Fiber Frolic - last, but not least, of the spring New England sheep and wool festivals.  It was a fun fiber weekend in spite of the sweltering heat that's been gripping all of New England.

I've had a busy spring schedule . . . a weekend here, a weekend there, every weekend somewhere.

And now it's over.

Except for a quick trip to New Hampshire this Saturday, my show schedule is empty until September.

I should feel relieved.  

The pace slows down, and I have a little more time on my hands.

Instead I feel a void without the fun and frenzy of planning and packing for the next event.

It's going to take some time for me to adjust to a different pace.

This transition calls for extra knitting time.

Frolic Fun

I'm in a fog this Monday morning, recovering from Fiber Frolic.  It was a fun weekend on many levels.  The weekend in pictures . . .

Half the fun of these events is meeting new and interesting people. Cindy and Katie from primitive stuff attracted a lot of people with their looms.  They were giving demonstrations all weekend long.


I had an interesting discussion with Pete Feeney on buying local and sustainable living.  Pete is with The Long Branch School and General Store.  They work to promote local businesses and self-sufficient skills through classes and a storefront. 


The rainy weather held off until Sunday when we had a good dose of raw, wet New England weather.

There was enough rain to form a small lake by the barns.


And now it's Monday.  It's great to start a new week after a weekend full of fun and inspiration.
