Good To Go

At least for now.  I've resolved my color dilemma from last week and am already testing it out on a new project.  I'm still slightly apprehensive - the yarn, the color, the project in general - but am reserving judgment until I've spent more time with it.

I have a bevy of new projects swirling around, so this one will have to take its place in the rotation.  Dedication to one project doesn't seem like the best strategy right now.

Since we're getting ready to wind down the month of March, it's time to open up another giveaway.  Leave a comment and tell us what you're working on or at least what's at the top of your pile.  Thoughts on any clever designs are always appreciated.  The winner, chosen at random, will receive a skein of yarn from Dirty Water DyeWorks - winner's choice.  The contest closes on Monday, March 31, 2014.

There are two things at the top of my "pile"! First is a ripple crochet afghan for my son that just needs the ends from 3 stripes woven in and then to block it. The other is a Knitty pattern for a twined knit mitt set that is the "homework" of a class offered by the Yarnpack in Acton. It's beautiful and has been fiddly but easy to learn.

correction...the store I am taking the class in is called The WoolPack! ...think I need coffee

I'm working on a scarf/shawl that I thought wouldn't get worn until the fall. Given the weather, now I'm antsy to get it done and wear it at least once before spring finally overtakes winter.

I'm still working on that skirt! I really want a sweater with easily customizable sleeve length and attached mittens. I'll create it one of these days, I hope.

I'm currently slogging through a Color Affection that was slowed by hand surgery. Next up a spring green shawl called Garland that I can't wait to start AND it will be my first project using beads!!

I'm in an odd place with only a pair of socks - gray, men's size 13! But I'm in this situation because I happily finished a few projects that had been languishing. I may cast on a color affection, in pretty and hopeful spring colors.

I am in between projects and am looking for the guts to start my first sweater project.

I am working a test knit for a designer from South Africa. It is for a baby sweater with a tree motif on the front. I am also finishing up a shawl.

I am working on Solidago socks for me! Thought I would have these done before the Olympics, then during, and finally for the closing. My friends asked, " maybe you mean the Summer Olympics?"

Just saw the x-mitts kit on the newsletter. Cannot wait to add it to my Spring projects! My current project is a shawl with bands of eclectic patterns. I am loving the color and am excited to be wearing it soon!

Finishing the sleeves on my Lightweight Pullover by Hannah Fettig. Also working on my Farrow Rib socks and the Inside out cowl. I don't really need another project on the needles, but the x-mitts are awfully cute.....

Please don't make me count how many projects I currently have OTN.... LOL.... But the most immediate project for this weekend is a couple of afghan squares for a group-effort gift blanket for a dear friend.

I am currently working on Christams stockings that I started about this time last year, and obviously missed the first deadline, lol. Wanting to start a new project, but knowing I need to finish this one first.

I never can have just one project going on - Calabash (Twist Collective) in Cascade 220, a lace shawl, and a lace cardigan from a pattern that belonged to my mother. Oh,and a pair of socks for my son out of some Shibui Sock yarn that was in my stash for a few years. Enough to keep me busy in my spare moments!

Just finished a pair of socks in Dirty Water Dyeworks yarn and I've picked up a WIP: The Concord Sweater by Donna Kay featured in Interweave Knits Fall 2013. It's a lot of one-color stockinette knitting at a gauge of 6.5 stitches to the inch so I tend to put it down (when I've had enough of the monotony) and pick up when I need to quiet my mind!!

Just finished my Holden shawl. I plan on doing Heartbreak shawl next. Plus I have just few more rows to go on my New Canaan cowl and hopefully I can put it away for next winter;)
Started Raw Honey mitts this afternoon in Clara. I am becoming a fan of Alicia Plummer's patterns.

I'm working on a test knit at the moment, and as much baby knitting as I can get done in the next 4 weeks before #8 arrives!

Fun to see the variety of projects everyone is working on! I am currently working on two projects. My social knitting one is a striped scarf for my 10-year-old son in the colors of the middle school that he will be attending next year. The one that I am finishing up while I am working alone is a mohawk hat for my 12-year-old son. Looking forward to knitting a shawl or shrug for me to go with summer sleeveless dresses.

I have a Prairie Rose shawl on the needles that I might try to add a few rows to today, but I'm mostly waiting for tomorrow so I can cast on a new pair of socks (waiting because it's for a KAL).

still working on the Orchard pullover I started in December! And yes, it is on top of a pile.

I am working on a sleeveless lace tank for my sister. It's made with cotton yarn so it's a little stiff.
Hope she loves it!
