I've had a crazy, upside-down day. Before things went sideways, I had a productive morning and even wound some yarn.
I can see the finish line with two of my current projects, so of course it's time to gear up for something new. After I had wound these, I realized this combination is a cousin to a combo I've already used. I debated for a bit, but I think I'll stick with it anyway.
I'm still enjoying the farmers' market, but it's near the finish line too. This week's color inspiration . . .
Apple season.
Are we there yet? When my kids were little, this was a frequent question when we traveled, and it's one I've been asking myself lately.
I thought for sure I was close to finishing my Montana Mountain
Cowl . . . it seems like it should be long enough. Last night I counted the number of repeats. No, I'm not there yet. I'm short by a handful of repeats, so I'll keep knitting around and around.

Since the weekend was such a blur, today I lingered a little longer than usual over my morning coffee. Color decisions can be time consuming, and I hate to rush the process.
The other day I finished my Odyssey Shawl. The pattern called for a picot bind off. I had over 300 stitches, and for a brief moment I contemplated a faster bind off. Instead I forged ahead with the picot version.
This bind off took a very long time, but it was so well worth it. Little details can be immensely satisfying.

A burst of pink.
I've been at it for hours, and it's only noon. There's so much to do, and the days slip by all too quickly. This is the pace of a packed fall schedule.

In knitting news I just added the last color to my Odyssey Shawl. I'm in the homestretch now.

We had a good time picking colors and talking about new fall projects.
When Sunday rolled around, I shifted attention to my own knitting.
I worked my way through a couple projects and also started something new. After reading through the pattern and project notes on Ravelry, I made a couple adjustments with this one. If you ever have questions about a pattern, check the project pages. Knitters are great about sharing information on problems, adjustments etc. It's a wonderful resource!
I had to do some math, and I checked and rechecked my numbers. I think I'm on the right track, but I won't know for sure until I'm deeper into the project. I'm anxious to see how this all works out.
I'm on the road tomorrow, and I'll have a new sample in tow.
Zorzal. This was a fun project to knit and falls into the category of one I would make again. Short rows, stripes and garter are an entertaining combination.
Even operation tassel was a success. The yarn is Lillian in Gourd and Fog.
